Dunwich Records was an independent American record label started by Bill Traut, Eddie Higgins and George Badonsky in Chicago in 1965.
Chicago was home to one of the most vibrant American rock ‘n’ roll scenes of the mid-sixties and the most prolific outlet for Chicago’s rockin’ teen sound between 1966-67 was Dunwich Records. From its very first commercial release, “Gloria” by the Shadows of Knight, to classics by the Del-Vetts, Saturday’s Children and Knaves (to name just a few), the label was, in retrospect, arguably the most consistent garage rock production house of its era.
Dunwich was also a production company which licensed recordings to other labels, including Atlantic, Atco, Columbia, Mercury and SGC. The label was primarily known for the release of singles from the emerging Chicago rock scene in the 1960s.

Various – Eastern Pa Rock Part One [1961-`66] The Barclay Story-Volume 1 60`s Garage Music Album Compilation
During the first half of the `60s, a young entrepreneur by the name of Clay Barclay had the foresight and vision to capture Hamburg to Pottsville`s prolific and bustling music scene. All 32 tracks on Eastern PA Rock--Part One were recorded in his Mr Wizard approved recording studio (also doubling as his parents` living room and basement) centrally located in Orwigsburg. Later he teamed up with established music industry types and relocated his facility to Reading, where he experienced a second wind of activity which has been resurrected on Part Two [1966-`69] of this reissue series.
No overproduced pop schlock here--this stuff is RAW, CRUDE and BARE TO THE BONE.
